Merry xmas and Happy New Year

Well....what a hectic month I have had in the kitchen.

I have been baking flat chat for almost the whole of December, creating treats for corporate xmas gifts, teachers presents, thank you gifts, as well as the usual orders for my wonderful customers.

In 19 days I used 38kg of SR Flour, 1250 metres of gift ribbon, over 100 6-pack gift boxes, 3 cartons of butter....the count continued! I used more than 11kg of icing sugar in one day alone!

And that was only on the cupcakes, without counting the rocky road and mars bar cakes, the fruit cake balls, cake balls etc etc.

I hope everyone who received gifts, placed orders etc all enjoyed their special treats and had an amazing Christmas break.

I now have a few days off and am not back in the kitchen until the new year - a VERY well earned break let me tell you!

Valentine's is now in the planning so keep an eye on my FB page for more details - and hopefully the website will be up and running soon too!

Stay tuned for more details and have a great xmas/new year break.

Thanks to everyone who has supported me during 2010 and I look forward to a wonderful 2011 with all of you!

Cheers

Niche Market

Well hello again - It's been a while!

I have been very busy creating and baking for Niche market which was at The Boathouse and Inveresk over the last two days......we had a very successful market and will be making a $400 donation on Monday to St Giles!

Two more birthday cakes on the way today and then a few hours of rest, followed by a bike party with Scarlett for one of her class mates at 4.30pm - here's hoping the weather holds out for him!

Father's day is coming up so don't forget to place your order for free local launceston delivery on Sat.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Love from (a very tired) Cupcake Fairy xx

Hello Again

Well hello again everyone - I haven't fallen off the face of the planet.....just been so busy.

We have had a hectic few weeks. Sadly my mother in law lost her battle with cancer on Aug 4th, 2010. We had been driving from Launceston to Latrobe every day whilst she was in hospital and then up again for the funeral a few days after she passed.

We have received some gorgeous flowers since and some beautiful cards - and we've been ucky enough to have the support of some wonderful friends who have jumped in to help look after Scarlett with literally a phone call's notice - love you guys!

Also been busy with Scarlett at school - a few more mother's help days, an excursion which nearly killed me (I'm a bit unfit!!) and illness (Scarlett is now sick).......have been cooking periodically throughout all of this so still in business.

Have had a wedding, a few parties, some regular orders and another wedding this weekend. Really must pull my finger out on this one though - have 90 cherries to tie individual bows on and if I don;t start tonight it won;t happen - might be in a bit of poo if it doesn't happen seeing as it's my brother in law getting married!

Anyhow, check out the new pics on Face book and keep an eye out for me at Niche on August 27 and 28 - at the Boathouse location so come and see me for a taster and a free lolly or two - will have some bargains and yummy treats!

Keep smiling everyone xx

Another day.....

Well, another day has passed. Wasn't too keen on the day when I woke up and looked out the window - frost and fog......never a good combination.
I ended up staying at school for parent help this morning - went at 8.45am to drop the Princess off to her kindergarten and ended up leaving at 1.15pm only to have to go back again to collect her at 3pm!! We had fun though - frog making, reading, singing, board games. The kids had fun (or so I'm told). Was a bit hungry by the time I left though!
Sausages and veggies for tea, now it's bedtime for a small person.....hence no time in the kitchen today (with the exception of the "gourmet" tea I prepared) so will have to try for Wednesday as we are off to the coast again tomorrow to visit Jan at the Mersey.
Stay safe everyone - happy travels to Kylie and her family for tomorrow xx

I Love the Rain!

Good morning fellow cupcakers...well - what a great day! The rain is fantastic isn't it!
I was allowed a sleep in today but still feel like I've been hit over the head with a brick!
Thought today I might have a lazy day and maybe make a cake or two for a trial run of something special.....have to come up with new ideas for Niche market at the end of August.
Good luck to all those in the Launceston 10 - what a horrid day to have run but for those who are keen, hope you all have a fun day!
Talk soon everyone xx

We have also been travelling to the hospital to visit my MIL who unfortunately is very unwell and have twice been able to enjoy lunch at the pub...yummy meals they have been too!
Today was filled with all things wedding - quotes, shoe shopping, material shopping, menu's.....ah - good times!
Now it's sleep time so I am all refreshed to do it all again!
